Unified synthesis of mono/bis-arylated phenols via RhIII-catalyzed dehydrogenative coupling.
2,6-Bis-arylated phenols are rarely reported and are synthetically challenging. Directed C-H functionalization reactions, using a directing group (DG), might provide a convenient solution to their synthesis. However, this strategy usually results in partial cleavage of the directing group, preventing further/second C-H activation cascades. Herein we report a general strategy that allows for the...

A group G has Černikov classes of conjugate subgroups if the quotient group G/ coreG(NG(H)) is a Černikov group for each subgroup H of G. An anti-CC-group G is a group in which each nonfinitely generated subgroup K has the quotient group G/ coreG(NG(K)) which is a Černikov group. Analogously, a groupG has polycyclic-by-finite classes of conjugate subgroups if the quotient group G/coreG(NG(H)) i...
متن کاملEnantioselective oxidative cross-dehydrogenative coupling of tertiary amines to aldehydes.
The direct oxidative cross-dehydrogenative coupling (CDC) of two C H bonds can be an efficient and relatively clean strategy in organic synthesis. Various sp C Hbonds, such as benzylic and allylic C H bonds, the a-C H bonds of amines and ethers, and the C H bonds of alkanes can be oxidized for direct reaction with carbon nucleophiles. Among these reactions, the oxidation of tertiary amines to g...
متن کاملSynthesis of benzimidazoles via iridium-catalyzed acceptorless dehydrogenative coupling.
Iridium-catalyzed acceptorless dehydrogenative coupling of tertiary amines and arylamines has been developed. A number of benzimidazoles were prepared in good yields. An iridium-mediated C-H activation mechanism is suggested. This finding represents a novel strategy for the synthesis of benzimidazoles.
متن کاملCopper(II)-mediated dehydrogenative cross-coupling of heteroarenes.
Cu(OAc)(2)-mediated dehydrogenative cross-coupling between two heteroarenes has been realized in the absence of any other additive. A mechanism involving a formal Cu(II) to Cu(0) route by convergent disproportionation of the copper mediator is proposed and has been evidenced by copper mirror formation during the reaction. This synthetic protocol provides a concise and "green" access to unsymmet...
